The stream visited this time is small and independent, which is located in the southeastern region of Taiwan.  In Taiwan, most small and independent streams usually encounter some engineering problems such as river integration and rigid river course.  Although some engineering traces can be seen in the stream that we visit this time, many parts of the stream still retain their original appearance, which is precious.

The stream bed is mainly composed of sand and gravel.  The stream is lined with stone walls stacked with black slates and shale, and natural hydraulic drop is often formed in the river bed.  There are many ferns, shrubs and arbor grown on both sides of the stream, and many fallen leaves often pile up at the slow-flow areas; in addition, due to the lack of large land-locked fish and predatory fish, the stream has created a paradise for amphidromous shrimp.
